About Fish N' Fools

Steve Greanias
Steve Greanias

When Steve and fishing where introduced together in 1984 it was an instant love affair. For almost 20 years he has been building his knowledge and experience of fishing with an unabated tenacity. It all started when his father Chris Greanias took him trout fishing at Robinson Creek at age 3. From there it graduated the addiction worsened he spent every free day off school learning how to fish plastic worms for large mouth bass with his Grandfather at Castaic Lake. At age ten he was able to go on his first 3/4 day trip with his father, and the minute he tied on to his first barracuda there was no turning back.

Steve kept finding more and more time to go fishing as he grew older. With a drivers licenses came an enormous amount of opportunity to find more time to pursue his passion. He began to fish the Oxnard fleet every chance he got and this is also where he got his first deckhand experiences. From catching calico bass, yellowtail, and white sea bass, Steve graduated to albacore and tuna, and it wasn't long before he went on his first multi-day aboard the " Polaris Supreme," in 1999. Steve kept fishing the same trip every year till he took a little different route and began working aboard the "Polaris Supreme" with Tommy Rothery in 2002.

Steve is currently a student at CSUN, studying Marine Biology. Even with his rigorous school schedule he manages to find time to fish on average 70 ?80 days a year, and work at "the Fish 'N Fools." At work he is able to share his experiences and help others their query. It is also a great forum for learning, and quenching his everlasting quest knowledge about fishing, and fish.

Steve has always striven to introduce new people to fishing. "The only thing better than catching fish, is watching some one else who you instructed catch his or her own fish." In 1997 Steve started up his own fishing club at his high school, which allowed him to take 20-30 kids at a time and introduce them to Southern California saltwater fishing.

Even at his young age of 21, Steve continues to fish with the expertise of some one twice his age, yet he is always eager to learn. He has demonstrated his prowess with many different tournament wins, and articles he has published. He will be glad to help with you with any question and hopes that he can make your fishing experience more enjoyable.

Steve is also "Pro-Staff" for Big Hammer Swimbaits & has written several articles for Big Hammer & the online sportfishing magazine, West Coast Angler
