![]() Mike Dantona |
Mike Dantona has been on a quest to be the consummate sport fisherman ever since he made his first catch at two years of age at Santa Barbara County's Zaca Lake. Since that day, he has fished every landing from Morro Bay to the Mexican Border both for local offshore to long-range far beyond the Channel Islands and deep into Mexican waters. His salt water favorites are tuna and local offshore species; trout and bass are his favorite fresh water challenges. His knowledge of what it takes to successfully fish has been the result of his desire to learn that has been gathered from first hand experience: since he was a fifteen-year-old private boater in the waters off the Southern and Central Coast, as a deck hand on sport fishing boats off the Channel Islands and in cool streams and on the beautiful lakes of the Eastern Sierra. He has also successfully fished the Colorado River, the Sacramento Delta, the Salton Sea, virtually every lake in Southern California and as well as many other locations. His personal bests include a 100 pound Yellowfin Tuna, a 14 pound Rainbow Trout, a 45 pound White Sea Bass and a 100+ pound Thresher Shark. Mike has been outfitting sport fishermen successfully with the very best of equipment for over ten years. A custom rod wrapper with eight years of experience who excels also in repair of rods and reels, he has a thorough knowledge of the best equipment. He is extremely effective in teaching technique and communicating good advice and tips to his customers. Most importantly, he believes fishing should be fun and exciting and he works to make it so for his customers, too. Mike also recently created a great accessory for any angler called the Radio Rod. These are custom wrapped car radio antennas wrapped like mini fishing rods. Check them out at: radiorod.com Mike can be reached through email: mike@fish-n-fools.com |
